As I attended the 2016 BET Experience last year and went to the BETX Fashion Show I was
expecting to see the stars and the breathtaking women walk down the runway. Little did I know
I was witnessing a superstar in the making with Creative Director of Unexpected Mag Miranda
Morowa. Setting up to take photos I noticed a female photographer snapping away, creating what
little elbow space there was, endlessly dedicated to taking the best shots. Miranda, at the time, was
very inconspicuous wearing a low brimmed jean style dad hat. Introducing myself afterwards I
learned of the conglomerate she was building. As Creative Director of Unexpected Mag and at the
helm of such entitles as Morowa Images & the empowering female-centric Melanin Mamis, I
saw her vision. As a tour de force of skillful knowledge behind the lens, whip smart intellect in
business, and a natural beauty that rivals any model I've encountered- Miranda has it all going on.
Unexpected Mag has over 3,700 followers on Instagram and that is attributed to Miranda's attention
to detail when it comes to photos and interviews. Her photography stands apart, highlighting the
dresses, designs, and the models at fashion shows. The diamond in the ruff subjects she seeks out
make for can't miss reading material. Speaking with Miranda last year about her success and plans
for 2017 there was a calmness about her. A quiet confidence, one that she doesn't have to boast about
or verbally proclaim, you just know. You just know Miranda is going to be successful in whatever
she puts her mind to, all while with a positive attitude an eye on the future.
