The film is a family affair which is set for theaters November 8th and Netflix November 22nd with it being produced by their father, the icon Denzel Washington, their sister Katia Washington and mother, Pauletta Washington who play a role in the film. Recently speaking with the LA Times the cast were discussing the themes of the film. And the process of the film, which John David Washington pointed to his brother Malcolm Washington, as the leader of the production - with him being the filmmaker.
I'm excited to see this film honestly not only based on the trailer but the lore surrounding the entire project! Actress Danielle Deadwyler is getting serious award show buzz and Oscar buzz for her role. I feel she had deserved an Oscar nomination for Till, but with this and a stronger awards campaign hopefully she get it. I like how Denzel had all of his children apart of this film, including his wife and one of his best friends Samual L. Jackson. How incredible! While he's doing Gladiator II press run, lets go!!
