2025 Golden Globes Nominations Predictions! 'Wicked', 'Emilia Perez' and 'The Brutalist' Among Our Picks
by Evan L. Jackson
A little less than two hours from now we are going to get our look at the 2025 Golden Globes nominations! We are really rooting for Nickel Boys. As its picked up tremendous momentum. My dark horse pick for Best Director in a Motion Picture is Coralie Fargeat, “The Substance” (Mubi).
I feel she did a wonderful job with directing "The Substance". An unsettling feeling through out which adds to the tension and horror of the film. Will the Golden Globes committee be turned off by the gore and body horror of film overall? Maybe. But I do feel she is one of the best six selections of directing this year. I'm basing it on the directing choices not on who is popular. I would like to see the one two punch of John David Washington being nominated for Actor, The Piano Lesson and his iconic father Denzel Washington be nominated for Supporting Actor, Gladiator II. Will that be the first time a father-son duo be nominated in their respective categories?! We shall see.
