At the Q&A for "Six Triple Eight"film directed by Tyler Perry award winning actress recounts how Tyler Perry had sent her the story of the Six Triple Eight battalion and how he was adapting into a film. 6888 was the only all Black female battalion in World War II that sorted out millions of mail from soldiers to their families. Kerry tells the heartwarming story where she had dressed up on her Instagram as yesteryear Black woman icons and she came across Lena Derriecott of 6888. She tells the story of how Tyler Perry reached out that week and wanted to send her a story he would like to adapt to film and have her star in it.
