Mark Hamill To Receive Cinema Icon Honor Award At CinemaCon!

The force is strong with Mark Hamill as he is set to receive the Cinema Icon Honor as being part of the Big Screen Achievement Awards At CinemaCon. CinemaCon serves as the official convention for Cinema United and the biggest get together of movie theater owners where press, industry folk, and studios commence at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The most exciting part of CinemaCon is sharing in the enjoyment of film and I like how this year’s festivities speak on how to better the theatrical experience. CinemaCon is hosted by the official presenting partner the Coca Cola company.

Mark Hamill is known for portraying the iconic Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars film franchise. And of course voicing The Joker in the Batman Animated Series and other animated film adaptations. Mark has three films coming out in theaters in 2025. One of the films coming up he’s in is the Stephen King novel film adaptation of ‘The Long Walk’, directed by Francis Lawrence. Next up is the hotly anticipated ‘The Life of Chuck’ opposite Tom Hiddleston. That film was recently acquired by Neon Studios and had won the 2024 TIFF Audience Award. Lastly, Mark will be in ‘The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants’ as the Flying Dutchman, from Paramount.

The top brass at CinemaCon had glowing words to talk about Mark Hamill and his impact on the history of cinema. "Mark Hamill’s career is proof that great characters don’t just live on the screen—they live within us, galvanizing generations of audiences worldwide,” noted Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director, CinemaCon. “This Cinema Icon Award honors not just an actor, but a legacy of incredible work that extends beyond the screen and continues to inspire us all."
